Juneau Police Department officers arrested a man on assault and weapons charges after a standoff Friday night reportedly precipitated by a domestic dispute.
Officers responded to the incident in the 3000 block of Nowell Avenue late Friday evening, after a woman reported being assaulted and locked out of her home by the suspect, identified as Donald Ray Hosier, 34.
Hosier was reported to be possibly armed with a firearm and in the company of two children, Sgt. Chris Gifford said in a press release.
Initially Hosier refused to let officers enter, or to come out of the home, Gifford said. After about two and a half hours, police were able to convince Hosier to exit the apartment, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Juneau Police arrested Hosier for two counts of second-degree domestic violence assault and one count of third-degree misconduct involving weapons. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center, where he was held without bail.
