Man indicted on jail contraband charge

A Juneau grand jury indicted Brandon S. Estes, 23, on Wednesday for allegedly promoting contraband on Oct. 18.

According to charging documents filed by Juneau District Attorney James Scott, Estes took or tried to take a controlled substance into a correctional facility, or tried to obtain a controlled substance while being detained in a correctional facility.

Estes made his first appearance in Juneau District Court on Wednesday. The case was assigned to Judge Philip Pallenberg.
