ANCHORAGE — A 27-year-old southeast Alaska man sought on a first-degree murder warrant was arrested Tuesday night after a standoff.
Albert Macasaet was arrested by an emergency reaction team of the Alaska State Troopers. Two children with him were not injured in the incident at a home in Klawock (klah-WAHK).
Macasaet is charged in the death of 27-year-old Judylee Guthrie, who was found dead July 31 in a wooded area near the village.
Troopers determined Monday that Guthrie was a homicide victim.
Officers attempted to arrest Macasaet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday but he pulled out a gun and holed up in home with two other adults and three children.
The adults and a 13-year-old left after five hours.
Macasaet, still with a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old, was arrested just before 11:30 p.m.
