WASILLA — A Wasilla man suspected of breaking into a home early Monday and assaulting a woman is being held without bail at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
Alaska State Troopers say the man is suspected of domestic violence kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, burglary, vehicle theft and failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer.
Online court records Monday morning did not list formal charges.
Troopers say the man sometime after midnight broke into the home, struck the woman on the head with a handgun, attempted to sexually assault her and restrained her from leaving.
The woman was able to escape and the man stole her vehicle and fled.
Troopers say he failed to stop for officers on Knik-Goose Bay Road but crashed into an embankment and was arrested.
