The Alaska Marijuana Control Board will hold a special meeting by telephone on Thursday to address an unclear decision at the board’s meeting last week.
Thursday’s meeting is intended to clarify what, exactly, inspectors should allow when a business opens itself to an initial inspection upon receiving its license.
Last week, the board voted to allow growers to have six mature, non-flowering plants as “mother” plants for their growing operations. Board member Loren Jones and board chairman Peter Mlyarnik said by phone that the board’s decision didn’t make it clear if new growers are also allowed to have already begun cuttings or clones of those mother plants.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. All board members will participate by phone. To listen yourself, call 1-800-315-6338 and use code 69173#.
