Sen. Lesil McGuire, R-Anchorage, won’t seek another term in the Alaska Senate, reported the Alaska Public Radio Network. She made the announcement during the Arctic Energy Summit held in Fairbanks on Monday.
APRN reported that McGuire, who has served for 15 years, made the announcement during the summit because the Arctic and energy issues are two things important to her.
McGuire is co-chair of the Alaska Arctic Policy Commission and she is chairwoman of the Senate Rules Committee.
