The Juneau School District’s search for a principal at the Juneau Community Charter School is down to two candidates, one of whom is currently a teacher at Thunder Mountain High School.
The two candidates will visit the school and interview for the position on Wednesday and Thursday. The finalists are Caron Smith, the principal of Bridges Career &Technical High School in Madras, Oregon, and Graham Storey, currently a teacher at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau.
JSD is hosting a community open house from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting, set to take place at St. Anne’s Parish Hall at 430 Fifth St. downtown, will give members of the public a chance to weigh in on the candidates. The interview team will have comment cards available and will consider each of the comments.
The individual interviews will also be open to the public. Those will take place from 9:15 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Juneau Community Charter School, located at 430 Fourth St. Full resumes for the two finalists can be found at www.juneauschools.org.
