JUNEAU — Memorial services have been scheduled for the late state Rep. Max Gruenberg.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Juneau and for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at Temple Beth Sholom in Anchorage. The public is invited.
Gruenberg, a longtime legislator from Anchorage, died on Sunday. He was 72. According to his obituary, Gruenberg met his wife, Kayla Epstein, in 1991, when she gave the invocation in the House chambers. They married in 1994.
In a release, the Alaska House minority says that in lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to charities that help victims of domestic violence, abused animals or children in need, or to Alaska Legal Services.
