A woman who had been reported missing was quickly found Wednesday, thanks to social media.
The Juneau Police Department issued a release on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, asking for the public’s help in locating 39-year-old Misty Hasper of Juneau.
“Within a short time of the Facebook post, people responded, saying they had seen her downtown,” said JPD Lt. David Campbell. “She was located.”
Hasper had last been seen at her mother’s home, where she had recently been staying, at about 7 p.m. Friday, the release stated. JPD’s initial investigation had not been able to confirm her location after that. There had been an unconfirmed report that Hasper had been in downtown Juneau at about 4 a.m. Saturday with her young daughter, whom she left with the girl’s father.
