Fire engulfed multiple vehicles at about Mile 30 Glacier Highway late Monday night, but no injuries were reported and the cause is undetermined, according to Capital City Fire/Rescue.
“Capital City Fire Rescue received a report of a vehicle fire at 30 mile Glacier Highway,” the fire department reported in a post on its Facebook page at 10:45 p.m. “On investigation, we found multiple vehicles on fire outside of the fire service district with no lives endangered and no people around. We’re aware of the situation but because this is outside the fire service district no further response is warranted.”
Complaints about trash and multiple parked vehicles at the same location were posted earlier Monday on a Juneau community Facebook page.
The case has been assigned to a Juneau Police Department officer for followup, according to Deputy Police Chief Krag Campbell.
