The National Weather Service’s Juneau office is holding an open house for the public today.
The theme is “Building Community Awareness to Reduce Hazardous Weather Impacts,” encouraging the community to be weather ready, responsive and resilient to hazardous weather. There will activities, tours and exhibits.
There are going to be six to 10 booths discussing various weather issues. The open house is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and the general public is encouraged to come between 3-6 p.m., after the news media briefing happens in the morning, and the emergency responders seminar in the early afternoon.
