Most aspects of Juneau’s Fourth of July celebration this year will remain the same, but one.
Thanks to the construction of the new cruise ship berths, viewers of the fireworks show will have a new vantage point for the celebration. The Alaska Steamship Float, the one nearest Marine Park, will be open for public viewing, the City and Borough of Juneau announced Friday.
One cruise ship, the M/S Eurodam, will be stationed at the Cruise Ship Terminal Float, which is located south of the Alaska Steamship Float. The Seawalk and the Alaska-Juneau Dock parking area will also be open for the show. The dock mooring catwalks downtown will remain off-limits.
