ANCHORAGE — The Alaska Native village corporation for Hoonah has selected a new president and chief executive officer.
Huna Totem Corp. said Russell Dick, the board chairman since 2008, will replace Lawrence Gaffaney as president and CEO. Gaffaney is stepping down Oct. 1.
Dick has worked as CEO of Alaskan Dream Cruises, a Tlingit-owned small ship cruise line, and as president and CEO of Haa Aaní, LLC, a subsidiary of Sealaska Corp.
He has been vice chairman of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority Board since 2013.
Gaffaney oversaw the launching of Dear North, an Alaska lifestyle brand of natural foods, and Huna Totem’s role in a $40 million dock at Icy Strait Point.
Huna Totem is owned by about 1,350 members.
