DUTCH HARBOR — An Oregon man has pleaded guilty to killing two bald eagles in the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor.
Alaska State Troopers say 29-year-old Dennis C. Thompson of Union, Oregon, last week pleaded guilty to unlawfully accelerating a vehicle through several bald eagles feeding on a road near the Unalaska landfill.
Thompson was fined $1,000 with $500 suspended.
He was placed on one year probation.
He also was ordered to pay $3,400 in restitution to the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage.
