At 6 p.m. Monday, the Alaska State Troopers learned that Leonard Johnson, 61, of Juneau was overdue from a hunting expedition near Eaglecrest Ski Area.
According to a trooper dispatch online, several hours into the search, Johnson was reached on his phone and reported that he had gotten disoriented and was unable to find his way back to the road.
Juneau Police Department Dispatch was able to locate Johnson’s position and he was found shortly afterward by members of Juneau Mountain Rescue and SEADOGS.
