The Juneau Symphony will present its winter concert this weekend at the Thunder Mountain High School Auditorium.  The concert will open with Mozart’s Overture from “The Magic Flute.” Then the 2015 Youth Solo Competition winner, Trevar Fiscus, will join the orchestra as the soloist for Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto. The concert concludes with a work that has never been performed before by the Juneau Symphony, Brahms’ Fourth Symphony.

The concerts are 8 p.m. Jan. 30 and 3 p.m. Jan. 31 at Thunder Mountain High School Auditorium. There will be a Concert Conversation with Troy Quinn one hour before each performance.

The concerts are sponsored by Alaska Airlines and University of Alaska Southeast. Tickets, which cost $29 for adults, $24 for seniors, $17 for student/youth, are on sale at the JACC, Hearthside Books, by calling the Symphony office at 586-4676. $3 additional for seats bought at the door Saturday; fee waived Sunday.
