Pie is a must-have at every Thanksgiving table, and those at Holy Trinity Church in Juneau are working to make sure their pies feed as many people as possible this Thanksgiving.
Holy Trinity’s annual Pie-A-Thon is Saturday, Nov. 18, where volunteers will bake 300 apple pies to sell or donate to help those in need at Thanksgiving. Community members can buy one to bake, freeze it for later or ask that it be given to the Glory Hole Shelter. Proceeds from sales go to Holy Trinity and McPhetres Hall, a neighborhood center for arts and fellowship.
If people want to pre-order pies for $20, they can do so at www.trinityjuneau.org. Pies must be ordered before Thursday, Nov. 16. Pies may be picked up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
