Police and fire for Sunday, July 10, 2016

Death

• At 5:26 a.m. Thursday, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a person dead on arrival in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Drive. Investigation continues.

Domestic violence

• At 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, JPD received a report that a 28-year-old woman suffered a domestic violence assault in the Juneau area on the night of July 3 or morning of July 4. Alcohol was involved. Investigation continues.

Fire and medical

• On Thursday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to 11 EMS calls, three transport calls and one structure fire.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 10:16 a.m. Thursday, JPD received a report that a 62-year-old woman’s vehicle collided with a 77-year-old woman’s vehicle in the 700 block of 10th Street. Total damage is estimated to be approximately $4,000. No citations were reported.

Non-compliance with police

• At 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, JPD created a case to forward charges against Rafael Flores, 51, after he gave a police officer a false name and date of birth when questioned about an open container violation in the 100 block of Marine Way. Alcohol was involved.

Vehicle rifling

• At 1:46 p.m. Wednesday, a 29-year-old woman reported the theft of a Pendleton purse and wallet, each valued at approximately $150, from her unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Gastineau Avenue.

• At 5:09 p.m. Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman reported her vehicle was rifled in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue and a subwoofer, valued at approximately $500, was taken.

Warrant served

• At 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, JPD created a case to document an attempt to serve in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
