Police calls for Thursday, July 14, 2016

Death

• At 1:08 p.m. Monday, the Juneau Police Department began a confidential investigation into the death of a 53-year-old woman in the 9400 block of Glacier Highway.

Domestic violence

• At 8:03 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

Drug activity

• At 9:19 p.m. Monday, JPD contacted a 14-year-old boy for smoking marijuana in the 2400 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. He was released to his guardian and charges were forwarded to the Johnson Youth Center.

Drunken driving

• At 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, JPD arrested Ricardo Serrano, 43, for driving while intoxicated in the 300 block of Fourth Street. His breath sample revealed an alcohol content of .075 percent. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and later released. Alcohol was involved.

Fraud

• At 2:32 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report of fraudulent debit card use after the theft of a debit card in the 100 block of Egan Drive. Investigation continues. Alcohol was involved.

Shoplifting

• At 12:31 on Monday, JPD cited and released Joseph Johnson Jr., 61, for shoplifting at Fred Meyer in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

Theft

• At 2:19 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report of a stolen cell phone in the 100 block of Egan Drive. Investigation continues.

• At 2:48 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report that an item worth approximately $815 was stolen from a store in the 300 block of Franklin Street.

• At 2:22 p.m. Monday, a 61-year-old man reported the theft of his wallet, containing $200, in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue.

• At 11:43 p.m. Monday, a 35-year-old man reported his Galaxy S6 phone, valued at approximately $700, was stolen in the 2800 block of Postal Way.

Trespassing

• At 8:10 p.m. Monday, JPD arrested a 55-year-old man for domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct in the Juneau area. He was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

• At 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, JPD arrested Benny Kinser, 23, for criminal trespassing in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive. He was taken to LCCC.

Vandalism

• At 4:21 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report that several construction vehicle and a shed on Allaway Avenue were damaged by thrown rocks.

• At 4:54 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report of vandalism, resulting in approximately $500 of damage, in the 300 block of Franklin Street.
