Assault

• At 4:35 a.m. Saturday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the 4300 block of University Drive to investigate the report of an assault. Alcohol was a factor.

• At 4:27 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 100 block of Gastineau Avenue to investigate the reports of assault, criminal mischief and vandalism.

Domestic violence

• At 9:49 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the report of an assault in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

• At 2:13 a.m. Sunday, JPD assisted another agency in response to an assault.

• At 3:54 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

• At 10:48 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

• At 11:01 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

Drunken driving

• At 9:14 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested Michael B. McRea, 63, in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road for driving under the influence. McRea was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on $1,000 bail.

• At 11:12 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested Edgar Garcia, 30, in the 3200 block of Egan Drive for driving while intoxicated. Garcia’s blood-alcohol content was 0.236 percent. He was taken to LCCC and later released on his own recognizance.

• At 2:19 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested James Welch, 24, in the 3700 block of Portage Boulevard for driving under the influence, refusal to supply a breath sample and weapons misconduct. He was taken to LCCC.

• At 11:04 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested Ofa Kivalu, 27, in the 4300 block of Julep Street for driving while intoxicated. Kivalu was taken to LCCC.

Fraud

• At 3:49 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 1800 block of Shell Simmons Drive to investigate the report of a counterfeit bill being turned in to an officer at the Juneau International Airport.

Medical assistance

• At 2:17 p.m. Friday, Capital City Fire/Rescue and JPD responded to the report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Shelter Island. Responders took the man to Bartlett Regional Hospital, and he was then taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Read more on today’s A1.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 8:39 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 2800 block of Riverside Drive to investigate a four-car motor vehicle crash. One passenger was taken to BRH for injuries that were not life-threatening.

• At 2:33 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 300 block of Whittier Street to investigate a motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported.

Shoplifting

• At 8:23 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 8100 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of shoplifting from a local business. Investigation continues.

Theft

• At 2:52 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 13400 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of the theft of fuel. Investigation continues.

Trespassing

• At 10:21 p.m. Friday, JPD cited and released Kenneth Lemieux, 52, in the 3400 block of Glacier Highway for criminal trespass.

• At 3:11 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested Heather Warden, 46, in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue for disorderly conduct. Alcohol was a factor. She was taken to LCCC.

Vandalism

• At 2:10 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 600 block of Seventh Street to investigate the report of vandalism to a vehicle. Investigation continues.

• At 11:23 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 4300 block of Riverside Drive to investigate the report of a woman, 31, who reported her fence was run over sometime in the night.
