Police calls for Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Assault

• At 1:40 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man reported a 41-year-old man assaulted him and stole his 1997 Honda Accord in the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard.

Child abuse

• At 7:20 p.m. Friday, the Juneau Police Department conducted a confidential investigation into possible child abuse.

Counterfeit

• At 2:16 p.m. Saturday, a 46-year-old man reported someone passed counterfeit money at a business in the 8500 block of Old Dairy Road.

Discharge of firearm

• At 12:31 a.m. Saturday, JPD investigated a reported accidental discharge of a firearm in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive.

Disorderly conduct

• At 2:41 p.m. Saturday, Martin George, 31, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Egan Drive and taken to Lemon Creek Correctioanl Center. Alcohol was involved.

• At 5:17 p.m. Saturday, George Shorty, 39, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Egan Drive and taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

Domestic violence

• At 11:47 p.m. Friday, a 39-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence assault on Egan. Drive. She was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

• At 8:26 a.m. Saturday, a 51-year-old man reported a 33-year-old woman violated a domestic violence protective order on Postal Way.

Drunken driving

• At 11:30 p.m. Friday, JPD performed a traffic stop in the 9000 block of Egan Drive, and Joshua Clifton Vantrease, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken to LCCC, and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. Alcohol was involved.

• At 3:31 a.m. Saturday, Christopher Derwood King, 27, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 6000 block of Egan Drive. The 2001 Honda CRV he was driving was impounded. Alcohol was involved.

• At 7:41 a.m. Saturday, Raymond Coronell, 27, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 2200 block of Trout Street, and he was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

• At 4:51 a.m. Sunday, Nathaniel Jay Messing, 25, was arrested in the 8100 block of Egan Drive for driving under the influence. He was taken to LCCC and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. Alcohol was involved.

Sex crime

• At 12:32 a.m. Saturday, JPD conducted a confidential investigation into a report of a sexual assault.

Theft

• At 6:02 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a report of a woman attempting to steal a bag of merchandise from a business in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 6:15 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a report of a man attempting to steal items from a business in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road. The items were recovered by staff.

• At 8:02 p.m. Friday, Cody Louis Munnuk Mercure, 29, was arrested for theft in the 1000 block of 3rd Street. Mercure was taken to LCCC.

• At 11:12 a.m. Saturday, a 57-year-old woman reported shoplifting from a business in Sealaska Plaza.
