Police calls for Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Assault

• At 5:40 p.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Lemon Street to investigate the report of a fight. Investigation continues.

• At 10:41 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street to investigate the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found that there had been a fight between two men but there was no stabbing. One of the men had pulled out a pocket knife in an act of self-defense, but no stabbing or injury had actually happened. Officers gave the two men warnings for disorderly conduct.

Burglary

• At 7:48 a.m. Saturday, JPD investigated the report of a burglary in the 2000 block of Sunset Drive. Investigation continues.

• At 1:17 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 9400 block of Carrol Place to investigate the report of a burglary. Investigation continues.

Child abuse/neglect

• At 4:13 p.m. Friday, JPD conducted a confidential investigation into reported child abuse in the Juneau area.

• At 11:59 a.m. Monday, JPD conducted a confidential investigation into reported child abuse in the Juneau area.

Domestic violence

• At 8:41 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested a 38-year-old man in the Juneau area for domestic violence criminal mischief. Alcohol was a factor.

• At 6:11 p.m. Friday, JPD conducted an investigation into the report of an assault in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

• At 7:18 p.m. Sunday, JPD conducted an investigation into the report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Alcohol was a factor. Investigation continues.

Fraud

• At 5:40 p.m. Friday, JPD conducted an investigation into the report of identity theft in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

Sex crime

• At 8:13 p.m. Friday, JPD conducted an investigation into the report of a sexual assault in the Juneau area. Alcohol was a factor.

Shoplifting

• At 4:31 p.m. Sunday, JPD conducted an investigation into the report of stolen shoes from Sequence, in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

• At 5:55 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 9300 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of a boy, 17, who reported a theft.

• At 9:58 a.m. Monday, JPD cited and released Kelly S. Clark, 40, in the 400 block of Whittier Street for larceny. Clark had stolen a bottle of Popov vodka worth an estimated $13.99. Alcohol was a factor.

Theft

• At 7:56 p.m. Friday, JPD cited and released Gregory Fitch, 48, in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive for theft of services.

• At 8:14 p.m. Friday, JPD forwarded charges against a woman, 45, for failing to pay a $51.60 taxi fare in the 800 block of Dixon Street. Alcohol was a factor. JPD did not release her name yet because she has not yet been charged with the crime, according to JPD spokesperson Lt. Krag Campbell.

• At 10:02 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 900 block of Basin Road to investigate the report of a man, 59, who reported the theft of gas from his parked vehicle.

• At 2:49 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Michael Hoyt, 39, in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue for first-degree burglary, third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft in two separate incidents. Hoyt was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Trespassing

• At 4:30 p.m. Friday, JPD cited and released Alan Lee, 33, in the 8700 block of Glacier Highway for criminal trespass.

• At 9:59 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Oleksandr Kryvoruchko, 30, in the 8800 block of Mallard Street for criminal trespass.

• At 3:14 a.m. Monday, JPD arrested James R. Newman, 39, in the 5600 block of Tonsgard Court for criminal trespass.

Vehicle rifling

• At 9:17 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 3100 block of Dimond Park Loop to investigate the report of a stolen wallet from an unlocked vehicle. The wallet is worth an estimated $25.

Warrant arrest

• At 3:27 p.m. Monday, Juneau-based Alaska State Troopers arrested Joshua James Walker, 33, at his residence on St. Ann’s Avenue. Walker was arrested on three felony arrest warrants relating to a parole violation and two probation violations. His original charge is for second-degree manufacturing and/or delivering a controlled substance. He was taken to LCCC and held without bail.
