Burglary

• At 6:09 a.m. Wednesday, the Juneau Police Department responded to a burglary report from a business in the 8200 block of Glacier Highway; investigation continues.

• At 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway; investigation continues.

Child abuse

• At 8:36 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to a report of child abuse or neglect in the Juneau area.

Disturbance

• At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive; confidential investigation continues.

Drug arrest

• At 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested Sherry Lynn Petranovich in the 2200 block of Trout Street on an outstanding warrant and for fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances; she was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center on the warrant.

Fire and medical

• On Tuesday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to 11 EMS calls and two medical transports in the area throughout the day. At 4:35 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to visible flames on Glacier Highway, which was a permitted burn. At 5:06 a.m., they were dispatched for smoke in the area of Glacier Highway and extinguished embers. At 12:17 p.m., firefighters responded to an active fire alarm on Whittier Street that was due to a system malfunction. At 12:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a possible carbon monoxide poisoning on Kelly Court; a strong smell of diesel was located and a heater was disconnected for maintenance. At 6:54 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a burn complaint on Lupine Lane and found there was no burn permit; the resident was asked to extinguish the fire. At 6:59 p.m., they responded to a fire alarm on Nowell Avenue that was due to burnt food. At 7:23 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm on West 12th Street and found food burning on the stove.

• On Wednesday, CCFR responded to seven EMS calls and five medical transports. At 1:25 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of smoke and active smoke detectors on David Street, but nothing was found.

Fraud

• At 11:26 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to a report of a fraud in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive; investigation continues.

Harassment

• At 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to a report of harassment in the Juneau area; investigation continues.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 12:59 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to a report of a hit and run at Sealaska Plaza that caused approximately $500 in damage; investigation continues.

Shoplifting

• At 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, JPD cited Lacey Diamond, 28, for shoplifting in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue.

• At 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested David Waits, 52, for larceny and trespassing in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue; he was taken to LCCC.

Trespassing

• At 7:03 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested Tyler Leatham, 25, for first-degree criminal trespass in the 2700 block of Engineers Cutoff Road, and took him to LCCC on $500 bail.

• At 10:58 a.m. Wednesday, JPD responded to a report of criminal trespassing and attempted theft from a business in the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard; investigation continues.

Vehicle rifling

• At 2:29 p.m. Tuesday, JPD responded to a report by a 22-year-old woman in the 2200 block of Trout Street that her vehicle was rifled through and her purse was stolen.
