Police & Fire for Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016

Assist

• At 11:37 a.m. Thursday, the Juneau Police Department assisted the Alaska State Troopers with an impound of a vehicle after a crash.

• At 7:40 a.m. Friday, JPD assisted the adult probation in the remand of Darin Jones.

Child abuse

• At 10:41 a.m. Friday, JPD began investigating a report of child pornography in the Juneau area.

Conditions violation

• At 9:50 p.m. Thursday, 26-year-old Archie Hunt was arrested for violating conditions of his release. He was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $500 bail.

Criminal trespassing

• At 7:29 p.m. Wednesday, 26-year-old Archie Lee Hunt was arrested for criminal trespass near the 400 block of Willoughby Avenue. He was taken to LCCC and later released on his recognizance. Hunt returned to the scene of the original trespass at 10:12 p.m. He was arrested a second time. Alcohol was involved both times.

Driving while intoxicated

• At 10:09 p.m. Thursday, Troy Steward, 53, was arrested near the 9000 block of Cinema Drive for driving under the influence. Alcohol was involved.

Drug Activity

• At 8:21 p.m. Thursday, a report of drug activity near the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive was made.

Fire and medical

• On Wednesday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to one transport call, seven EMS calls and one call near Glacier Highway where the person left the scene before medical services arrived.

• At 9:40 a.m. Thursday, CCFR responded to a vehicle accident on Egan Drive. A woman was provided basic life support, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 11:37 a.m. Thursday, CCFR responded to a vehicle accident on Glacier Highway. A woman was provided basic life support, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 2:52 p.m. Thursday, CCFR responded to a report of an unresponsive person on Egan Drive. Upon arrival, the person stood up and walked away, and CCFR units returned to service. CCFR also responded to three EMS calls and one smoke complaint throughout the day.

Minor consuming

• At 1:52 a.m. Friday, a 16-year-old male was reported to be passed out and unresponsive in the 300 block of Willoughby Avenue. He was tranported to BRH.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 4:13 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a two-vehicle crash with no injuries near the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

Robbery

• At 11:49 a.m. Thursday, a 52-year-old woman reported she was robbed of her backpack near the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.

Sexual abuse of a minor

• At 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, JPD received a report of sexual abuse of a minor. Cnfidential investigation continues.

Shoplifting

• At 2:41 p.m. Thursday, 50-year-old David Rose was arrested for larceny in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue. Alcohol was involved.

• At 2:54 p.m. Thursday, Devon Rivera, 19, was arrested for shoplifting near the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard. A 15-year-old boy was also contacted with Rivera, and he was also shoplifting. The boy was released to the custody of his parents and a charge of theft in the fourth degree is being forwarded to the Johnson Youth Center against him. Rivera was taken to the jail and was charged with theft in the fourth degree, and an additional charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Theft

• At 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, a stolen vehicle was reported near the 8100 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

• At 2:31 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a theft near the 500 block of Sixth Street.

Traffic stop

• At 3:28 p.m. Wednesday, Corwin Vavalis, 27, was driving an unsafe vehicle near the 5400 block of Egan Drive. A citation was issued with a verbal warning and the car was impounded. Alcohol was not involved.

Vehicle rifling

• At 1:36 p.m. Wednesday, a 46-year-old woman reported her purse was taken from her car in the Juneau area.

• At 7:23 a.m., a 32-year-old woman reported CDs stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime during the night.

• At 9:59 a.m. Thursday, a 43-year-old man reported CDs, tools and a bluetooth handsfree speaker system stolen from his vehicle near the 600 block of Basin Road sometime during the night. The estimated value of the stolen goods is $200.

• At 4:33 p.m. Thursday, a 49-year-old woman reported her vehicle rifled near the 600 block of Basin Road.
