Police & fire for Thursday, March 3, 2016

Domestic dispute

• At 7:09 p.m. Tuesday, the Juneau Police Department arrested a 29-year-old man for a domestic violence assault in the Juneau area and took him to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center where he was held without bail.

• At 2:34 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested a 20-year-old man for a domestic violence assault in the Juneau area and took him to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

Fire and medical

• On Tuesday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to five EMS calls, one transport call, one carbon monoxide alarm activated possibly by a wood stove, one camp fire where assistance was not needed and one call that was cancelled en route. Later in the day, CCFR also responded to a citizen complaint when someone was locked inside a building on Old Dairy Road. Personnel contacted the building manager to review their fire code requirements to make sure people could safely exit when necessary.

Harassment

• At 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, a 28-year-old woman reported being harassed by an unknown man in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.

Promoting contraband

• On Wednesday, Alaska State Troopers received a report from LCCC officials that drugs were found inside two cards mailed to inmates on Feb. 25. Investigation continues.

Shoplifting

• At 9:52 a.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of shoplifting from a business in the 9100 block of Glacier Highway.

Theft

• At 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, a 23-year-old man reported two flags were stolen from his residence in the 3700 block of Amalga Street.

Vehicle rifling

• At 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of a vehicle rifling in the 2200 block of Trout Street that resulted in a missing iPod. Investigation continues.

• At 4:58 p.m. Tuesday, a 60-year-old male reported the back window of his 2009 Toyota Tacoma was broken out while he was on a hike and the vehicle was rifled. The window’s estimated value is $500. No other property was reportedly taken.
