Juneau police are investigating a man’s death following a welfare check.

Police are working to identify the man and determine the circumstances surrounding his death, Juneau Police Department said in a Friday night news release.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, JPD received a call requesting a welfare check on resident. An officer responded to a residence on the 2500 block of Vista Drive in Douglas, where the officer discovered a dead man. Police said he is believed to be the subject of the welfare check.

The identity of the dead man was not released.
