Two youths were arrested Tuesday morning after two glass doors and a large window were broken at a business on Mendenhall Mall Road, according to Juneau Police Department.
At about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report of a burglary alarm going off at a business. Responding officers found the damaged doors and window and a vacant business.
Over the next several hours, patrol officers investigating established that two people were responsible for the damage, according to JPD, and after breaking the glass the suspects stole a bottle of liquor from the business.
At about 3:30 a.m., JPD located two juvenile suspects behind Glacier Valley Elementary School, and after a brief foot chase, the suspects were detained, according to JPD. It was determined the two were suspects in the burglary, and the juveniles’ parents were contacted. JPD did not release the names or ages of the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
