A month ago, a Whittier Avenue business was burglarized, and the Juneau Police Department is still seeking the culprit.
A little after midnight on Oct. 8, an intrusion alarm went off at Kenny’s Liquor Market on Whittier Avenue. Officers responded and found that the front door to the business was unlocked but nobody was inside. JPD contacted the owner, who provided officers with video footage.
On the video, officers saw a male who appeared to be about 6 feet tall, wearing a black sweater that appeared to have a motorcycle picture on it. The suspect was also wearing a black beanie cap, white gloves, blue jeans and black boots. The officers noted that the suspect’s face was partially covered by some sort of black cloth, according to the JPD release.
The business owner estimated that between $2,000 and $2,500 was stolen from the business. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Juneau Crime Line either at 523-7700 or online at www.juneaucrimeline.com. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and might be eligible for a reward as well.
