A man charged with assault and suspected of vehicle theft is still at large, and the Juneau Police Department is looking for help finding him, according to a release.
Seth Martin Timmer, 42, has a $500 Alaska State Troopers arrest warrant for a probation violation after an original charge of third-degree assault in 2011. Timmer is also a person of interest in a vehicle theft and not stopping at direction of an officer earlier this week on Dredge Lake Road.
According to online court records, Timmer has a long history of trouble with the law in Anchorage, Juneau and Sitka dating back to 1997.
In 2012, a jury found Timmer guilty of strangling his girlfriend in May 2011 in Sitka, according to a memorandum opinion filed by Alaska Court of Appeals Chief Judge David Mannheimer in 2016. In 2012, Sitka Judge David George sentenced Timmer to 36 months in prison with 18 months suspended. Timmer failed to appear for a February 2017 scheduled visit with his probation officer, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Anyone with information about Timmer is asked to contact JPD at 586-0600.
