Kirk Duncan, director of Juneau’s Parks and Recreation Department, will be speaking at today’s Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Duncan, who has worn several different hats during his tenure in city government, will be providing the chamber with an update on the Parks and Rec master planning process, which is set to begin after Labor Day. Duncan is just beginning what will likely be a two-year process to update the department’s master plan, which hasn’t been updated in about 20 years, he told the Empire on Wednesday.
Duncan has previously served as Eaglecrest Ski Area’s general manager and as the city’s director of Public Works.
Today’s luncheon will be at the Moose Lodge. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the event begins at noon. Tickets cost $20 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.
