At the University of Alaska Southeast’s Egan Lecture Hall tonight, Dr. Chad Morris, Professor and Director of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program at the University of Colorado, will give a lecture on the criminal justice system and tobacco addiction.
Morris will talk about the connections between tobacco use for the criminal justice system. Individuals involved in the system suffer a high prevalence of chronic illness, much of which is related to tobacco use, according to Morris. Morris will discuss what researchers and scientists know about tobacco use for this population and whether tobacco cessation treatment should be considered a social justice issue.
This free talk is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. For more info, contact kristinc@jami.org or 463-3303.
