Rainforest Recovery Center on Thursday kicked off a monthlong effort to collect new socks for the homeless and others in need.
“As the holidays approach, let’s give warmth to those in need,” a release from the center states.
All donations will go to Bartlett Regional Hospital’s Emergency Service Program. Drop off boxes are located at BRH’s front entrance and Rainforest Recovery Center’s lobby.
A donation of new underwear is also welcome. All items should be for adults.
The sock drive will go through Jan. 3.
Front Street Community Health Center, 225 Front St., also accepts donations of socks for men and women in need year-round. The health center is also seeking donations of hats and gloves this winter, as well as travel-size hygiene items, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion.
