A recount for the close race in Anchorage’s District 27 has officially been requested, the Division of Elections announced Wednesday.
The recount is expected to take place this Friday at the State Office Building in Juneau, the division said in a news release.
Certified results have incumbent state Rep. Lance Pruitt, R-Anchorage, who also served as Minority Leader in the Alaska House of Representatives, losing to Democratic challenger Liz Snyder by only 13 votes.

Division of Elections Public Relations Manager Tiffany Montemayor confirmed the recount request in an email Wednesday saying the recount would begin Friday, Dec. 4, at 9 a.m. at the DOE director’s office in the capital city.
The request was made by 11 qualified voters, Montemayor said in an email, the minimum is 10. The recount shouldn’t take longer than a day, she said.
