ANCHORAGE — State troopers say they have found the truck belonging to an Anchorage man who has been missing since Tuesday.
Alaska Dispatch News reported that troopers believe Kevin Mitchell drove away from his home Tuesday morning, sparking frantic search efforts by family and friends.
Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said a friend found Mitchell’s Toyota Tundra on Saturday morning at a lake south of Girdwood. It was near mile marker 87.5 of the Seward Highway.
As of 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Mitchell had not been found.
Troopers also found a body inside a second vehicle about half a mile from Mitchell’s car. Peters said the discovery is “completely unrelated” to the search for Mitchell.
She said the person had been wanted on an arrest warrant and appeared to have committed suicide.
