SEWARD — A 38-year-old Seward man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting Saturday morning at a remote site 60 miles north of the city.
Alaska State Troopers say Alexander Herlant fired shots at another man. Herlant is also charged with felony assault.
Troopers just before 10 a.m. Saturday took a satellite phone call from Herlant reporting he was holding a man at gunpoint at Puget Bay.
Herlant said the man had been helping him build a cabin.
The man was not injured by the shots fired.
Troopers made their way to the cabin site and transported both men to Cordova, where Herlant was arrested jailed.
Herlant remained jailed Monday. Online court records did not list an attorney for him.
