Shellfish advisories are in place in areas across Southeast Alaska.
According to a release, a recent butter clam sample collected from Kasaan Harbor in Kasaan on May 15 and a butter clam sample from Auke Recreation Area in Juneau on May 17 each had elevated paralytic shellfish toxins above Food and Drug Administration levels of 100 grams.
Samples are analyzed by The Sitka Tribe of Alaska Environmental Research Lab.
