In addition to repaving Glacier Highway, the City and Borough of Juneau is also replacing the sewer force main on the street between Anka Street and the Lemon Creek Bridge starting this week.
Unlike the repaving project, which is scheduled to finish in the coming days, the sewer main replacement is expected to take about six weeks, with construction running from Monday to Saturday. The construction will affect traffic and will be noisy, CBJ said in a release.
Arete Construction is undertaking the project, and expects to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. There will also be occasional work at night. DOWL Engineering is the onsite construction inspector for the project.
There will likely be traffic revisions on Glacier Highway, Anka Street, Tonsguard Court and Concrete Way, according to the CBJ release.
