Downtown Juneau residents sleeping at home Wednesday morning were awakened by an intruder, who is now wanted by police.
Police said the homeowner confronted the intruder inside the home, prompting the burglar to drop the “many items he was attempting to steal” and flee the scene.
“The home owners were sleeping and woke up to the sounds of someone in the house,” an information release from the Juneau Police Department states. “As the male was going through rooms in the house he was confronted by the home owner.”
The incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Distin Avenue, police said. The burglary gained entry into the residence by breaking an exterior window.
According to the information release, the suspect was described as a male of Asian or Native descent and is approximately 20 to 25 years old.
