ANCHORAGE — A woman walking her dog in an Anchorage school parking lot was struck and killed Tuesday night by a snow plow.
An Anchorage School District employee just before 10:30 p.m. called 911 to report the plow he was driving hit the woman in the parking lot of Begich Middle School.
Anchorage police say 57-year-old Anica Sofron was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The dog suffered a minor leg injury and was taken to an animal hospital.
Police say no charges or citations had been issued as of Wednesday morning.
