A Soldotna woman was found dead on Saturday after walking into the woods on the side of the Kenai Spur Highway.
Alaska State Troopers found the body of Yvonne Anderson, 45, around 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, after having begun a search for her on Christmas Day, according to an online trooper dispatch.
She had been reported missing on Christmas Day, according to the report. She had gotten out of a vehicle around mile 4 of the Spur on Christmas Eve and entered the woods after “an argument with a family member,” troopers wrote in the dispatch.
Anderson’s family has been notified, and a final autopsy report is pending following the results of a toxicology test, according to the report. Troopers do not suspect foul play at this point, though the Alaska Bureau of Investigation is still looking into the case, troopers wrote in the report.
