Southwest Alaska village child dies in accidental shooting

ANCHORAGE — Alaska State Troopers are investigating the accidental shooting death of a child in Kokhanok.

Troopers early Saturday night took a call of the accidental shooting in the southwest Alaska village.

The child was transported to an Anchorage hospital and pronounced dead Sunday.

The name, age and gender of the child were not immediately available.

Kokhanok is on the south shore of Iliamna Lake. The village of 164 is 88 miles northeast of King Salmon.
