JUNEAU — The Alaska Gasline Development Corp. did not renew the contract for a South Carolina-based consultant once identified as the leader of the state’s gas team, a spokesman says.
Miles Baker, a spokesman for the corporation, known as AGDC, said consultant Rigdon Boykin’s last day of employment was Nov. 30.
Boykin had signed a contract with the state-sanctioned corporation in May. The termination date was twice extended and was due to expire Dec. 31.
Baker said a big part of the benefit that Boykin brought to AGDC was as lead negotiator for the state but he said Boykin doesn’t have that role anymore.
Gov. Bill Walker last month recommended that AGDC use Boykin in a different capacity going forward. Baker said AGDC currently isn’t looking at another role for Boykin.
