The state reports another new case of COVID-19 in Juneau, according to a City and Borough of Juneau news release, which cited Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.
The case reported Friday and the one reported Thursday appear to be related to travel outside of Alaska, according to CBJ and Juneau Public Health Nursing. That brings the total of people from Juneau who have tested positive for COVID-19 to 33 since March; four cases are active and 29 of individuals have recovered.
For most people, the coronavirus causes only mild symptoms. But some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia, which can be fatal.
