Two more people in Juneau tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. Both cases are a result of the patient being in close contact with somebody else who has tested positive for COVID-19, according to DHSS. The new cases bring Juneau’s total number of cases to 29. Of those people, 26 have recovered.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough and breathing trouble. Most develop only mild symptoms. But some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia, which can be fatal.
Prior to these new cases, Juneau’s last confirmed case was reported April 22.
