The state confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 for Juneau, according to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services and City and Borough of Juneau.
One of the people who tested positive for the coronavirus is between the ages of 10 and 19, the other is between the ages of 50 and 59, according to CBJ and DHSS. Both are male.
The source for both cases is attributed to contact with a confirmed Alaskan case, according to DHSS. The new cases bring Juneau’s cumulative total to 26. Of that total 17 people have recovered, according to CBJ.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough and breathing trouble. Most people develop only mild symptoms, but for some people — typically with other medical conditions — it can be fatal.
