The new Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum building will begin operations with a new boss. On Thursday, the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development announced that Patience Frederiksen has been named director of the division that operates the state’s archives, museums and state libraries.
She replaces Linda Thibodeau, who will retire June 30 and has overseen construction of the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff State Library, Archives, and Museum, which is scheduled to open June 6.
Frederiksen is head of library development at the Alaska State Library.
