More than 150 COVID-19 cases, nearly all among residents, were added Saturday to the state’s total.
Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported 151 newly confirmed cases with 147 resident cases and four nonresident cases. The new cases pushed the state past 3,000 cumulative cases among residents to 3,136. There have now been 691 confirmed nonresident cases, according to state data.
So far, 930 residents have recovered, according to state data, and there are 2,182 active cases statewide.
One new death was also reported, which brings the total of Alaskans who have died with COVID-19 to 24. The person who died was an Anchorage man in his 50s who had underlying conditions, according to DHSS.
Now new hospitalizations were reported Saturday. So far, there have been 133 hospitalizations.
None of the newly reported cases were in Juneau, according to the state.
Most of the newly reported resident cases, 110, were in Anchorage, according to state data. Another 20 cases were reported in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. No other borough or census area had more than 10 cases.
Two cases were reported in Southeast Alaska —one in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough and one in the City and Borough of Sitka.
