City officials are encouraging all boat owners in the Juneau area to check their vessels due to stormy weather.
In a release Wednesday, the city’s Docks and Harbors division advised boat owners to make sure that lines are secure, pumps are operating correctly and boats aren’t collecting rainwater.
Heavy rain will continue to fall into the night, causing lake and river levels to rise in Juneau and northern Admiralty Island, according to a special weather statement from the National Weather Service. The forecast calls for rain through Friday night.
