Student group leading Standing Rock protest Sunday

A University of Alaska Southeast leadership club is hosting a peaceful protest in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The gathering is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday at UAS, according Jenna Hallenbeck on behalf of Wooch Een. It’s open to the public.

Wooch Een’s mission is to advocate for local tribes and spread awareness of cultural values.
