The Juneau Police Department tasered a suicidal man outside a Juneau hotel on Friday afternoon before taking him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.
JPD received a report from the Kodiak Police Department at 2:05 p.m. that it was in contact with a suicidal man with a firearm at the Driftwood Lodge.
Officers cordoned off the area and negotiators spoke with the man. Buses were rerouted and nearby schools were notified of the situation.
The man exited the hotel room at approximately 3:45 p.m. before JPD tasered him and took him to Bartlett. The Driftwood Lodge has been reopened and buses have resumed their normal routes.
The investigation continues.
